maya progress..lighting


Ive started to try and get the lighting in the areas that are lit up in my concept art. ive used small area lights so far, in small areas to start off. 


adding a white area light behind the hero prop to give off a highlight
adding a red area light...
increasing the intensity to make the red stand out and hit the front of the hero prop more.
(added in a texture to the ground using a tile made from one of the photoshop tutorials, to see how it looks really. also made a second plane, and made it transparent to try and make a watery effect...ill try out some more ideas later
